What better to celebrate the release of live-action Aladdin than with food? A dinner inspired by the setting and characters of the long-time favorite movie proved to be a hit. Dinner was served on a rug on the floor while the movie was playing for an authentic feeling. Flying carpet pizzas, tiger cookies, and so much more make this classic even more exciting. Hop on a carpet and fly to another Arabian night…..
flying carpet pizzas
This had such an effect, but was seriously so easy! Grab your favorite pizza crust mix, mix it up, roll it out, & cut it into rectangular shaped pieces. Pull out the corners a bit, twist them, and flatten & press them with a fork to give it a tassel look. Top them with sauce & your family’s favorite toppings and you are done! So cute, so simple. Just the way we like it!

Jafar's twisted fries
Curly fries represent the evil Jafar in the cutest way. Sprinkle a little seasoning salt on these and they are guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser.
There you have it! Instant Aladdin Disney Dinner! Comment below if you have any other ideas to bring out the magic of this movie!
hummus and pita chips
Fun themed food is perfect for the kiddos, but when my husband & I are enjoying the Disney dinner with them, I like to add something that is traditional to the region of the movie. It’s also a great way to get the littles to try new foods. Hummus & pita chips aren’t exactly super-exotic, but they are super delicious and a nice break from our everyday side dishes.
genie drinks
You can’t have a Disney dinner without a fun drink. And what is more fun than the Genie??? My kids went crazy over this drink. Just choose your favorite blue beverage (I went with the classic Blue Hawaiian Punch) and add a tuft of blue cotton candy. There you have it, instant “Genie Juice”.

sugar dates & pistachios
Sometimes it’s nice to be able to add something to dinner that you don’t necessarily have to prepare. Enter “sugar dates & pistachios!” A quotable line from the movie & a delicious side dish that is ready to go…just rip the bags open & be done.
Raja’s tiger cookies
These treats are practically now a classic. What kid wouldn’t love a cookie made with Frosted Flakes & striped with chocolate? These might have just made their way into our Christmas cookie rotation as well. Recipe is as follows:
1 3/4 c flour 2 eggs
1/2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt 3 c Frosted Flakes, crushed to about 1 1/2 c
1 c butter, softened 6 oz chocolate chips, melted
1 c sugar
Stir flour, baking soda, & salt. In a bowl, beat butter & sugar and add eggs & vanilla. Beat well. Mix in flour mixture. Stir in crushed flakes. Drizzle melted chocolate over dough and swirl throughout. Dropped by rounded spoonful onto baking sheer and bake at 350 for 12 minutes, or until lightly browned.
Enjoy & let us know of any other fun Disney themes you would like to see featured!
