maleficent cone

Updated: Jan 15, 2020

Wickedly delightful. The Maleficent cone is inspired by a Descendants-themed Disney dinner. It is the perfect evil ending to a villainous night. Simple to make and oh-so tasty!

ice cream cone with chocolate maleficent horns
Maleficent ice cream treat is as good as it is wicked.

To make the chocolate horns, simply melt down semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips by placing them in a microwave safe bowl and microwaving for 15 seconds at a time, stirring in-between to ensure that you don't scorch the chocolate. Once the chocolate is melted, pour into a piping bag (or make your own--put chocolate in ziploc bag & snip the corner of the bag) and pipe the horn shape onto parchment paper on a baking sheet. Once the horns are piped onto the parchment, place in the freezer until hardened.

The rest of the assembly is easy-peasy. If you are lucky enough to find purple cones, great! If not, no worries, it will still be super cute. Mint chip ice cream worked great for this cone due to its green coloring, so feel free to use any green ice cream you wish! Top with purple sprinkles and add your Maleficent horns to the top, and there you have it. A dark & delicious ice cream treat! Enjoy!
